iView - oh santa please!

iview.jpgSo, for quite some time now, I have been searching for an external monitor for my laptop. But I want something nice, visually appealing, and don't want to have to give my first-born for it. But, here is something that I might just be able to get behind... if only it were real. The iView is the brainchild of Nuno Teixeira, coming from his design portfolio. And the kicker, it has a mini monitor on the back side so that an assistant or client can see what you are doing, or I would venture so that you can present something full screen on front (this is a dual monitor not one) and still see what your viewer is experiencing. And from the look of this, Apple would be smart to reign in this genius befor someone else does. This is just beautiful, and the curve of it conjures  visions of innovative cubicles that are really only separated by these curved bank of monitors and an ultra comfy chair. Or airport terminals with chairs that you just swing the monitor and a keyboard around to sequester yourself, even in the middle of a ratnest airport. So dear dear Santa, please leave an iView under my stocking this Christmas, really, I have been a good girl!

move over iPhone?

Now, I am a die hard Apple fan, but due to the fact that I can't get one anytime soon up here in boonieland kind of frosts my cookie. But, is it my ongoing love affair with the fruit, or just needing the last cool gadget. Well, there is something about owning the original, kind of like the knock off purse, fun to have, be walking around knowing yours is the real deal is something else. Well, take a look at Android, Google's answer to iphone, which they gave us a sneak peek at during the Google I/O conference in San Francisco. Oh come on, you knew it was only a matter time, but grab the drool bucket, because it won't be released until later this year. So, while I will still campaign for Apple world domination, Google gets snaps for their innovative strides as well, lest we forget their bevy of genius; the search engine, the fabulous analytics, mail, calendar, applications to name a few. And on top of it all, they have found a way to make the web accessible to everyone by making all of that FREE. Anyway, chec out this video of the phone.....coming to a hand near you.....this fall.

Waxing the rain forest

Yes, I am a huge Harrison Ford fan, so when I saw this, I was intrigued. Indiana Jones (heck, a video of any man in this position) gets his chest hair waxed, has made for great comedy in the past few years.

I am in a mastermind group (reading Think and Grow Rich) and we have been vowing to focus this week on "why" and not the how of the things we wish to obtain....well, this left me asking the question, over and over again. I get the concept, but now he needs to walk around with a strange little patch of hair missing from his chest. And while this is impressive to get a star of his caliber to participate, I wonder who else would be up for the challenge?

While this is appealing on a number of levels, one, Indiana Jones shirtless, the other to see "manscaping" in action is progress. I love the expression on his face. For a slight moment there I feared for the life of the woman yielding the little waxing stick, but it was all for a good cause. Raising awareness of the destruction of rainforests and its impact here. The video on utube has received nearly 80,000 views and I am sure it is on a number of sites as well.

What are your thoughts, worth the pain, or just painful?
