now this is interactive!

hrp.jpgIf you have been staring at your latest web project trying to figure out something new and innovative, looking for a unique way to allow users to navigate your site, you have to see this. While quite non-traditional, this site utilizes your webcam and microphone to navigate the site. You will see a little image on the lower right hand side of the screen where you will see your image and some hotspots, and as you move your hand over them they will highlight and take you to that link. It takes a little while to get used to this, but is a fun change from the traditional navigation.

Won't you please, won't you please, please won't you be my neighbor!

sunnyville.jpgFor those of us up north, itching for some nice weather to get out in the yard and get on with summer, here is a way to Welcome Back Spring provided by Lowes. One of the better little interactive sticky content I have seen, coupled with the fact that is is a great sales tool, you have to give it to them for the development of this site. The site allows you to visit your neighbors, and build your own yard, using products from none other that Lowes. Plant your shrubs, trim them with the hedge trimmer, add a fountain, firepit and even a disturbing little leap frog statue to your yard. Listen to the birds chirping and settle into your new virtual backyard.

Holy Websites Batman!

Vandelay.jpgSo if you know anything about computers, the web, or maybe even just look like a geek, you have likely been targeted by your friends, family and yes, even your church maybe be hitting you up for help with their website. Now if you have taken a look at web sites out there, church sites have traditionally been some of the worst. Often times a site for the sake of having a site, with little or no content, but the times they are a changin!

Check out this coolection by Vandelay Design http://vandelaydesign.com/blog/galleries/best-church-websites/  and you will see that there are some really beautiful sites out there. I have always loved heading to the Christian bookstore when I hit a design roadblock, you never know what you will find and designers of religious publications are often challenged by having to create visual representations of abstract concepts, like God, Faith, Forgiveness, Grace, etc.

And the end result is often something that evokes an emotional response, which is, in the end, what you hope to convey with all marketing.
